Founded in 1995, the Vine School Health Center is a full service pediatric clinic located in the Vine Middle Magnet School in Knoxville, TN. The clinic is a joint cooperative between the University of Tennessee College of Nursing and the Knox County Schools Health Services Department.
Services which are offered in the clinic include well child exams, school entry physicals, sport participation physicals, care for acute illnesses (colds, strep throat, influenza, pinkeye, etc…), general first aid for injuries, health and nutritional education , and immunizations. Complete physicals include vision and hearing screening, developmental screening, growth evaluation, any necessary laboratory screening tests, and health education.
These services are available by appointment for all Knox County students aged 3 years and older. We bill insurance for those students who are insured. Uninsured students are also seen, with a generous sliding fee scale applied on an individual basis. We do provide services for individuals who are covered by Tenncare plans.
Announcements Sports PhysicalsIf your student is going to participate in any Knox County school sponsored sport, he or she will need a complete sports physical. Vine School Health Center can provide this for your child. Schedule your fall and spring sports physical now and beat the rush when it is time for tryouts!
 New Immunization RequirementsBeginning July 1, 2010, all rising 7th graders will be required to have 2 chickenpox vaccines and a Tetanus, Diptheria, Pertussis (TdaP) vaccine. All school nurses will be reviewing the students' health records. We recommend you update your child's vaccine status before school starts. All health care providers, including the Vine School Health Center and the Knox County Health Department will be able to assist you.
